Anyone else watch it yet?
I feel the commercials were misleading, but they always are. It seemed to get off on a slow start, but about half way through it got interesting. The story was nowhere near what I thought it was going to be, but it was pretty good. Definitely original and entertaining once it got kicked off. I think IMDb's 8.6/10 is slightly higher than my personal rating, but well worth a watch.
Also, if you have seen it, obviously you know to expect a sequel in the near future.

And yeah those commercials sucked, didn't really tell you what it's about, it seems like it might be ok though(it does have a 89% approval rating on rotten tomatoes) so I'll definitely download it when it come out. That reminds me is this site an alien free zone??
ive thinking about seeing it but ive havent got the chanse yet.

That was pretty cool, I wish I saw that before the movie, I would've had a better understanding of the movie ahead of time.

The weapons were pretty badass..
It was a good movie. And I think why it was decent was the twist it gave the first contact idea. It was so mundane the reality of fc in the movie. Aliens arrive and there is wonder and then everybody just gets used to it and goes on... and the aliens are ostricised
Seems like a pretty cool take on fc by Bloomkamp there. Just ugly old apartheid happening again. I know Alien Nation sort of used that idea but it was not as interesting I think. I also liked the transformation of the administrator into a alien who's in charge of the alien resettlemnt - he gets a moral lesson there. Pretty good scifi movie I thought.

Update: OMG it's fucking amazing looking
One of the best movies this year imo, and definitely grab the
Kamera version, It makes a whole lot more sense with the alien subs
It's better without subs, vastly odder when you don't know what sshchhchshshchhhshh means.
